2021 and the Year Ahead

With the new year beginning, I have some exciting news to share with you.  As part of IAA’s leadership succession plan and future growth strategy, Matthew McKenney will be joining IAA as our new CEO.  Starting immediately, Matt will be in our meetings to learn the full scope of IAA’s services and the needs of our valued customers. Matt, along with the rest of the IAA team, will be providing technical assistance to our employer partners.

Matt comes to IAA from Hypertherm as its workforce development leader focused on apprenticeship. With over 25 years working in advanced manufacturing, Matt was a TIG welder, CNC machinist, manufacturing business unit leader, technical training instructor and education leader, HR business partner (HR generalist) and workforce development director.  In his most recent role, Matt led the Hypertherm Technical Training Institute that has graduated over 700 apprentices and has an annual budget of $2.5 million.  Matt has developed and implemented training and credentialing programs internally for incumbent career growth, and externally as pipeline strategy to support global business growth. These programs span multiple businesses and education providers leveraging local, state, and federal resources.  In addition, Matt also serves as Chair of the Board for a local non-profit that focuses on job placement of clients and serves on multiple NH Governor’s advisory councils and commissions representing both Hypertherm and the Business and Industry Association of NH.

Matt and I have worked together in the apprenticeship space for more than 12 years, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead IAA’s organization.  That said, I want to assure you that I will do all that is needed to ensure a smooth transition and will be fully engaged in the upcoming year.

As always, we are open to your thoughts and feedback.  We are looking forward to the good work that will be accomplished in 2021! Please welcome Matt to the IAA family.

Best regards, Gerry

FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Matthew S. McKenney

As the newest member of the IAA team, I’ll be working closely with Gerry and the rest of the team to envision the IAA of today and the future. With over 3 years of experience in workforce development from the employer side, I hope to bring another perspective to the team. Having worked with many of the IAA staff members for the past 12 years as an IAA customer, I had an idea of the strong values and attention to high quality that each of them bring to the organization.

I look forward to getting to know our employer, workforce development and agency partners in the coming months. Please reach out to introduce yourself or if you have questions for me or any of our IAA staff by clicking on the Contact Us button below.
